The EarthShots images are standard Photoshop output JPEG high quality 300 dpi image files, saved at quality 10. Supplied with the bitmap image, two corresponding PhotoShop Path files are offered to allow extensive modification or enhancement of the image.
One contains text layers such as river names, major cities and town names, country names, physical features in the seas and oceans, and island names. The other Path file contains outlines of each map, with each country placed on a separate layer for easy location and editing, and a layer with all borders; also included are coastlines, rivers, major towns and cities, graticules (lines of latitude and longitude), and scales.
The corresponding map in Adobe Illustrator EPS format provide fully-editable outlines of each map, with each country placed on a separate layer for easy location and editing, and a layer with all borders; additional layers include coastlines, rivers, major towns and cities, graticules (lines of latitude and longitude), and scales. The Illustrator files also include a layer onto which the corresponding EarthShot relief map images can be placed.
